I fished the wingdams last Sunday morning for about 4 hours but we only could find one 20″ walleye. The flow has increased slightly the past couple of days. The water temperature is also increasing which I think is a bad thing this time of year. On a positive note, I think the water clarity should be improved this weekend. Perhaps the back waters might be worth checking out.

I’ll be out if I don’t go duck hunting.

    Good Luck,

Really quick report (little to talk about) hit the backwaters sat AM first thing for ~4 hours with one good fish lost to show for my efforts. Used Cranks, jigs, 3 ways with gulp, minnow, crawlers for zip – lots of current – more than last fall when it was really rolling. Looked like a lot of company @ the bridges at Prescott right away in the AM. Went up there around noon and saw a few small fish being caught trolling cranks on lead or 3-ways. didn’t want to do that so I pulled 3 ways and caught a few sauger. ran into friends from work and turned the afternoon into a social one – kind of salvaged the day.

Went bass fishing on Sunday with my dad and pup and had a blast.

As the current slows the fishing should pick up. Lots of bait at the bridges up high and water temp was 59 in the morning.

I fished wingdams Saturday and Sunday morning. On Saturday I got one nice walleye (27″) and one big carp that hit a Walleye Diver while I was trolling some rip rap. Sunday I found three walleyes (18″-23″) and a sauger (15″). Great weather for boating but I think some cooler water will help the bite. It’ll be interesting to see if the bite picks up this weekend.

Were you bass fishing on the Pool 3 backwaters or did you fish a lake?

Lake up by St. Cloud – it was going through turnover but we still managed 4 fish over 19″ in with ~25 total and many misses of fish bumping the cranks but not aggressively hitting them. Spinnerbaits slow and steady were the key! Attached is Dad with a nice spinnerbait fish.
