The last three days of my vacation I spent on pool 8, looking for sauger and walleye. The sauger bite on pool 8 is a good one. Friday 3 of us caught and released over 75 fish, mixed sauger and walleye. Early morning until about 10 am saw the most action. Vertical jigging, 5/8 oz. chartruese superdos, 11-15 ft of water, strong current called for the 5/8 oz. jig. A good number of 16-18 in. sauger and walleye were in the mix. Saturday by myself same results, 40 + fish, same presentation. Sunday fished deeper water, 15-22 foot, same presentation, larger fish, lower numbers caught, but better size fish came to the boat. Vertical jigged, used electric trolling motor to maintain depth, and structure. Pool 8 fishing is very good at the present.
