Trip to lynxville float in October?

    Anybody up for a trip to the float at Lynxville sometime next month? I’m pretty flexible with my schedule, sure would be nice to meet up with you guys for some fishing, and maybe a tall tale or two.

    Excellent idea. I’d be game. Could do something like fish from boats in the afternoon, then arrive at the float late in the day and fish through the night. I think they let you tie up boats on the float, but I’d have to check. I will be away in Price County, WI hunting grouse and Timberdoodles a week from Saturday through Columbus Day, but I should have some time open after I get back.

    I’ve never fished from a river barge. I’ll try anything once.

    I don’t have a boat either, but i dont think that will matter. Anybody have any dates that will work? The full moon for the month is at the end, which doesnt work to well for me considering rooster season starts then. Any other ideas?

    Weekend, or during the week? My optimal time would be a sunday night, into monday, cuz I dont work mondays. But I can make about anything work.

    I’m fairly flexible too, but Monday 4th is out as I am in IA City all day, eye appt. But I have time to take from work, so with a bit of notice I’m good to go.

    A Sunday night might be workable for me; I just sometimes can’t seem to get out of bed Monday morning. Sudden illness, you know.

    I’ll bring my boat and fish the Sunday afternoon with Rugby, we’d have room for at least one more; then do the float at night. Rugby will have to drive me back to CR in the morning, tho…

    Dave. you can count me in if given at least a weeks notice i can be flexiable most any time, I can bring my boat and would have room for a couple of people, we could even car pool from CR. Lets set a date.

    How about the weekend of the 23rd-24th? If sunday – monday works for everyone, thats great, if not we can change it to. It would be great if I could hop in an open seat in someones boat for the afternoon, than we could all meet up on the float afterwards.

    I’d be game that weekend. However, my CEO, who is getting more pregnant by the day, gets the final veto!

    She is due in late February, so the fishing and hunting trips will start diminishing from about Halloween to “drop” day.

    If that weekend holds then I’ll be on my way back from Mille Lacs that day…I might not have had enough fishing in by that time and just may join you…Gonna be hard to beat pulling in Mille Monsters in every night and then come back to our river…not that she doesn’t put out…but she just doesn’t do it as often

    I believe that is the weekend we will be up there. We should be there sometime Saturday night. We have to leave sunday night thou. Does anyone have room in a boat for two me and the better half)? We are boatless as of yet.

    Well, we will be out there next weekend. Here is a question I have:
    Seeing as I am new to the walleye (and the other fish of the season – was not much of a fall fishing person except for crappies)fishing in area (Lynxville Float), what kind of bait should I be bringing with me for when we come out there next weekend? Are the crappies biting out there yet? or is the season over? Are there any hot bites right now out there? This will be the last trip of the year , is it going to be worth the drive? Not much on lures and the such, but I have more then all the girls I know put together – something in my tackle box I should bring?
    Thanks for any help. Making sure I pack the “RIGHT STUFF” for the trip
    Hope to finally meet some of you guys there
