    Chappy,

I’ve talked to a couple of guys who have fished that area several times in the last couple of weeks and none of them did very well. Maybe the fish are boycotting!

I think we have a 2 or 3 weeks before they get on down there.

They usually bite 2 or 3 weeks before memorial day.

I spent a little time around Prescott last Saturday. The weather was actually pretty decent. Some 14-16″ fish were being caught but the action was fairly slow based on what I saw. I did see one 4-5 lb walleye on a stringer (not mine). The water in front of the ramp was about 48 F.

I ran down through Truedale to Dushanes and down to the train bridge and back up…. mostly for a joy ride. I did talk to a canoeist in Truedale that said he caught a couple of real nice channel cats and one 4 lb walleye. I think he was also catching some sheepshead.

Quite a few boats were out.

Truedale will pick up before Prescott. The spawn usually lags a week or so behind Red Wing up here. Water temps are much cooler coming out of the Croix. When the trees start really budding out, and the water starts to drop, you will be able to catch them from shore very easily!
