Here’s a pic of a 26.5″ post-spawn walleye caught by Stuart “dekaja” Hansen. This particular fish was caught on a lil’ fishie minnow and was released after this photo.

    Thanks for the photo!

If anyone else has a photo or two they’d like to share with us here at FTR, simply send the photo out as a .jpg attachment in an e-mail to [email protected] and we’ll gladly get that posted here just as quickly as we can.

    Good fishin’,

    Nice Fish!

Question for the floks out recently (or on a daily basis!!) Do you feel the Walleye spawn is pretty much over? Meaning maybe a few stragglers that have not dropped eggs, but the majority are done?

    Thanks for your insights.

My opinion is that its not “almost done” but more like just getting rolling. All female walleyes I caught during the week still carried eggs, Everts had a couple larger walleyes brought into the resort full of eggs. I was still seeing about 50% of the saugers carrying eggs as of Saturday as well.

My opinion is that we’re smack dab in the middle of the spawn.
