I have plans to fish Pool 4 for the first time Sat. and would like some advice. I am thinking putting in at RedWing or Lake City and fishing the northern part of the lake and the edge of the river. I am running a new boat and it will be me and my fishing buddy (he’s 12) so I am concerned with getting in heavy traffic the first time out. I have fished the St. Croix alot in the past so I am use to the river just not as much current. I guess I’m asking if this is a fisable plan–I am open to suggestions. Will this weather shut everything down??? I really wanted to launch from Everts but I feel the current may be a little much. Thanks in advance.

Everts is a great landing, and has a good selection of bait and tackle. The current in the river is pretty strong right now, yet with the wide open area in front of Everts, you shouldn’t have any problems. If you plan to fish down at the head of the lake, and don’t want to travel by water, there are a couple of other landings down from Everts. Stop in at Four Seasons bait and tackle and they can direct you to any of several landings, including Everts. The head of the lake area shouldn’t be to busy, I was down there a couple of times last weekend and this week, and there is hardly anyone there, of course the fishing was great there, but the catching wasn’t.
