The main channel bait shop in Alma is the best on that end of the pool. You can launch from the public access in Wabasha for $7 / day I believe. Its a pretty good landing – plenty of parking.

I beleive you can put in for free at Pepin, wi., just up and accross the river from Wabasha. Or if you want to pay you can put in at the pepin marina, about 30 seconds away from the public launch (by car). My son was at the public launch last weekend and the pier was still there.

I forgot, there is a bait shop just before you get into Pepin. Big steel pole building right on 35.

FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO KNOW
The launch in Wabasha is closed for the season.
You can launch at the upper Marina for a fee of $8.00
However the last two weekends it has been a zoo.
It took me over an hour in line to get out last Saturday.
There are only two ramp in use for a couple hundred boats.
Hopefully now that labor day has past it will slow down.
But I would expect to wait in line and take a chill pill.
Just wanted to let you know.

if you are fishing the end of the lake i would say your best bet would be the pepin boat landing. There is a fish cleaning house there also. There is bills sporting goods just before you get into town. if your going to fish the upper end i would go to lake city. Im not sure of any bait shops around there. there is also camp lacoupis on the minnesota side were the lake dumps into the river. they do charge five dollars for that.
