Took a little trip down to Lansing to try and get a few eyes. We fished the wingdams using crawlers all day with a mixed bag coming to the boat. The wind was brutal as well as all the cruiser boats. The fishing was pretty slow in the morning until around 2, then it got better. We ended up catching 8 keeper sized eyes as well as cats, smallmouth, gills, mooneye, and of course a zillion sheepies . The largest eye was a nice 5#.

Oops..I should have noted that the guy in the pic is a friend of mine. I had a pretty slow day in the boat only landing 2 eater size eyes. That tattoo is a recreation of the deer he shot in 2001 with a gun.

10 pointer, but very young. His spread was like 16″ and had little mass. It was a pretty decent size buck for State land though. It was his first gun buck so he had him mounted. He shot him about 1.5 miles from the parking area so he had a loooooong drag, but luckily a lot of it was downhill. I told him, better you than me .
