while fishing smallie the other day on pool 9 I caught a 20″walleye on a popper. Hit that popper just like a Bass I have never see that in 20 years of fishing. Have any of you caught walleye on topwater baits? Guess theres a first for everything!

I had one take a swing at my Ciso Topper while musky fishing. I had the same expression as you…”HUH…… walleye…..topwater????” Granted I was only in 2 or 3ft of water. Maybe he/she didn’t realise the top was so close LOL

My friend and I were fishing for bass with buzzbaits at dusk 2 years ago. What a surprise to see a 28″ walleye *smash* the buzzbait. Biggest walleye my friend ever caught. Never had a walleye do that in 16 years previous and I haven’t seen it since.

I have also caught a walleye (mine was only a 2 pounder) on a buzzbait. Took it 3 strikes before it got it, but much to my suirprise it was a walleye.

After that walleye and the other ones you have caught this summer, you are going to be a walleye guy pretty soon!!
