I’m going out tonight, hopefully the walleye gods are smiling at me tonight, I’ll probably just end up trolling all evening, til I get bored or my arms are too tired. Anyone else going to be out there tonight?

Are there any lips left on those fish up there?

About a month ago I was catching a few that where looking a little sore in the mouth. As a kid I often wondered if a caught fish would ever bite again or how long it would take for them to bite again. Since then I have caught the same eye twice in a day and again the next day. Also have caught plenty of eyes on pool 2 that looked to have been resently used.

I’m thinking of switching up a little, and making a trip out of 494 sometime this week. Only go there 1-2x a year, so it should be interesting.

Do you have to exit on Concourse ST. to get to the launch?

Comming from your direction Nubbin’ you should be able to exit after concord, atleast I could last time…

Alright I’m going out now, I’ll report back tonight, but don’t expect great results from me , then again they say even a blind squirrle finds is bound to find a nut once in awhile, I just hope if I find that nut it isn’t BrianK

WE’ll I got on the water a little after 4pm, and it took me until 6 pm to find my first eye and biggest of the day somewhere around 19 inches next fish was my first and last sauger in quite a while, I managed to find one small section holding some fish and I trolled through it about a dozen times picking up another 4 eyes, all 15-17 inch range, and a crappie and one sheepie . Then I had to move around a bit, and decided to fish the confluence area bit, catching nothing, then I tooled up stream and found one very small spot north of highway 5 holding a few eyes, I pulled two out of the spot, it was getting dark out, so I decided to call it a day. all in all it was nice out there and the fish were biting, it looked as if there could’ve been some white bass action off the tip of pike island , maybe it was some smallies, something was hitting shad at the surface there. I didn’t really check it out. I caught nothing upstream by minnehaha, and the fish I found were in south of highway 5. First time in this section a bomber A didnt catch me a thing, Think “craw pattern” out there… Atleast that’s what worked for me. Snagged up a billion times, nothing bounces off rocks like a bomber .

    Hit upper 2 last night.

Kind of surreal, as it was like fishing in Oct. All kind of leaves floating downstream. Also, very little to no flow. It was like fishing a lake.

Fishing was very slow. I managed 1 small eye below the landing. I think I am hanging it up for the year up there, and concentrating on learning wingdams for the rest of the fishing season.

Did have 1 very bright spot, and will have to post pics soon. Hooked into something about a 100 yards below the Minnehaha creek area. Towed me downstream a few hundred yards. Once it got to the boat, I literally couldn’t move it, and I was horsing it w/ 50# Powerpro. Turned out to be a 22lb Flathead. By far, my largest cat.

And yes, I did handle it.

Great flat….you mean it is the biggest you actually LANDED! Just kidding you…I still wonder how big that one was we had under the boat that wouldnt come off the bottom.

I was out on Monday w/ my daughter, we did a lot of running (she likes going fast) but still managed 6-8 small (under 15″) eyes and one 24″ around Watergate. Lots on small smallies, some sheepies and a decent pike.

Things have definately slowed. Minnows were busting everywhere, lots of food out there.

I think middle to lower pool 2 might be the place to try tonight. Things in the upper half of pool 2 have slowed down for me as well.
I’ll give it a try tonight.
