For that upper crank bite, it dies pretty soon (or at least changes). The size has been getting better each year for the last 3 years. The floods a few years back seem to have turned out a lot of those 17-19″ fish right now. The 23-25″ have been around each year, gaining 2-3″ per year.
Numbers were about the same as 2001-2002, but size was better this year. 2003 was a bad year for me, I dont know why, low water all year???? A lot of nice smallies last year, fewer walleye. This year, only small smallies, and 4-5 eyes for every other fish.
Mid Oct on out I will have to start hitting the 494 area. Do they expect the 494 launch to be open before winter?
Next year should be incredible as long as those fish dont end up on poacher’s plates. 70% of fish should be over 20″ w/ a handful of 27″ers thrown in. WOW, cant wait!
