Joe,
I do not know of any pool 14 fishing clubs. That doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. I do know of a walleye club that specifically fishes the Mississippi in pools 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14. They have at least one tournament in each of the pools each year. The club is The Mississippi Walleye Club which is based in Dubuque. I was a long-time member of this club and a past member of the board of directors. I am not in the club this year because of prior family commitments but should be back in it again this coming year. Yearly membership is $30.00. They have 8 club tournaments and a classic tournament each year with fisherman-of-the-year points awarded in each tournament. Tournaments cost $10 each and you pick your partner for half the tournaments and draw your partner for the other half of the tournaments. It is a really good way to get out and fish with a pro. The things you learn in one year will amaze you if you fish the tournaments. You not only get to fish with seasoned tournament fishermen but you will get to fish out of some of the best walleye rigs in the country. Many of the club members fish in the various tournament trails. Cabelas also awards spots in their Team National Championship tournament for the top fishermen of the year placings. Several members have fished this tournament and have placed well. Last year the club had a couple members place 2nd down in Kansas. This year they had an 8th place finish up at Little Bay de Noc. I did qualify for the tournament this year but was unable to fish it because of my oldest daughter’s wedding.
I would recommend checking out the club’s web site. They have monthly meetings on the 2nd Thursday of every month. It is a great group of men and women. The club also hosts an annual kid’s day event where they take 100 kids out for a little tournament.
It is also a good way to learn the river from the Minnesota border to LeClaire, Iowa.

Drive safe and watch for deer.
Korn,
There is not a pool 14 club, I am quite sure. I am not sure how many local guys would be interested, but might be a good thing to look into. On the other hand, I met several of the guys who fished the Mississippi Walleye Club tournament here a while back. Some great guys and really good fishermen in the bunch. I plan to join their club when my girls get a little older and I have a little more time to commit to fishing tournaments and traveling to fish.

All good stuff. I will definately check out the club website eyehunter; however, I have a 5 year old son, a three year old son, and another one on the way , so I too lack the time, as rooster mentions, to devote to tournaments at this time in my life.
However, since a club already exists, I wonder if it makes much sense to start a new one?
My ideas would be for a club that meets regularly to foster fellowship, sharing of fishing knowledge and offers assistance to the local DNRs in terms of helping with stocking, cleanup efforts or studies; perhaps 2 work detail days/year with monthly meetings at a rotating location reasonably close to most members homes. 1-2 low-stakes fun tournaments would be fun, but I’m just not there yet as far an interest in tournaments. If others out there in TV-Land are interested in club like I am proposing, please send me an email or private message.
