    does anyone know if there is an up to date report on lac seul for walleye. I head up there on friday night for a week. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the info, does one crankbait work better then the other for northerns, or whats a good lure for them.

    I typically head up there in august or early September, and will be going on sept 6 this year. We usually use spoons, such as red eyes, daredevils, and Krocodiles, and they all do the trick, Strange thing is, though, that each year one seems to do better than others, but that could be a coincidence. crankbaits work too, but I prefer the ease of getting one treble out of their mouths, versus two or more trebles that most cranks have. Plus, you can “ski” the spoons over heavy weeds in shallower water by quicker cranking, where most other baits get hung up. Good Luck, and looking for a report when you get back.

    From my experience it’s hard not to catch fish at Lac Seul. The NE part has fairly stained water and our best walleye colors were browns with some orange, golds with brown, pumpkinseed etc. Northerns will hit anything that looks like a minnow or a leech. Good luck.
