Fished pool 4 Friday, pool 5 Saturday, and pool 4 again today.Friday we did very good up from the Y on the dam side.Mostly inthe 18 foot range between wing dams.I even caught my very first fish on a super doo…a mid 30’s spoonbill catfish. Those things are very powerful! Also picked up a 25″ female walleye, that on my “worthless yellow jig”(long story).Saturday in pool 5 was pretty tough for awhile. Then we started to copy what we were doing Friday…worked like magic.Only thing was,if we weren’t in 16′ of water there was no bite. Also picked up a very fat 25 1/2 inch Walleye there. As for Today,we had a kinda slow outing.Spent most of the morning wiggling like maggots amidst the boats below the dam.Did pick up some nice female saugers.I have seen more saugeyes from pool 4 this weekend than ever before combined!Water temp is getting to the high forties late in the day,I suspect the spawn has most likely begun.Next weekend can’t get here soon enough…
Pretty good weekend.
