According to the National Weather Service the water is coming up. The river at Alma is flowing 56,000 cfs and by Monday or Tuesday possiably pulling the gates out of the water. We pull the gates at Alma dam at around 90,000 cfs.

To sum it all up……the river is suppose to come up 5 feet by Wednesday and possiably crest by Thursday.

Water temp at alma is 44 degrees.

We did catch a couple nicer fish yesterday but had to work for them.

The Mighty Mississippi is looking at 12.5 here on pool 10 for Wed. I was up to the dam the last two days and someone musta put stink bait on all my gear cuz all i could seam to muster up was a couple of sauger and a hand full of stink fish.

The flow is increasing so I played down stream in the shallows with super do’s in the timber , pulled cranks, crawler harness, vertical jigged just about everything….and it was still beter than comming into work.

The water temp started out at about 52 deg. in the morning and ended up at 50 by the end of the day….go figure that one out …..lol must be some cold water comming down from the great white north.

Was anyone besides myself right below the dam when they fully opened it Sat. morning? There was so much debris you almost couldn’t navigate through it.

I was on the Wisconsin side of the channel and got out in a hurry. Luckily it did move out pretty quick which allowed us to get back at them.

I talked to a guy on Saturday who saw a dead deer floating down river after they opened the gates!
