Went out to Bass Camp on sunday around noon and fished until about 10:00. We tried below the dam, and we hit some of the wing dams, and around the dam, We were using jigs with crawlers and minnows and we couldn’t find them. All that we could find were a bunch of sheepies. And I mean a bunch. The whole time we were out there we caught 2 keeper eyes, one that was close to 4# but the numbers just weren’t there.
Just wondering if some of you guys that fish for Walleyes a little more could help me out with some spots, structure and baits. Not looking for secrets but just a little help
    Thanks Jerry Jonsgaard

    Jerry,

I was there a week or so ago and we did manage to pick up some nice Walleye (5) trolling the Wingdams and sloughs. In total. we had about fifteen but most were small. When trolling in the sloughs we fished in water anywhere from about 5 foot to ten foot deep.

I’ve been getting walleyes on wingdamns with crankbaits and also with leeches. There are a few wingdamns in front of Fountain City that have producing well for me all year.

Trolling the backwaters has been hit and miss for me… the most productive waters have been in 5′ to 8′ feet…with #5 shad raps in clown or crawfish bringing in most of my fish.

I haven’t targeted walleye in the last week or so, but it’s been a pretty consistant bite all year.

    Chad
