went out today on the lower end of the lake. Started out at the pepin boat landing. (since wabasha is closed ) motored acrossed the walls of fog on the lake. What a mess. But we finally made it and started fishing at about 5:30. Started out trolling walleye divers on the rip rap with no luck. 15 minutes later i put a crawler on the end hook of my walleye diver and let it back out. The next thing i know i have a fish bending my rod over soooo bad i couldnt get it out of the rod holder. Just as i got it out and started to reel the whole handle on the reel broke off. at that point i knew we had to stop trolling. while trying to hold the fish and reel in our other poles we managed to tangle the lines with the line the fish was on. i thought we were done. after cutting line and getting all the other poles in i still had the fish but now what do i do, i cant reel. I grabed the line and started to pull in and the fish surfaced right by the motor. I yelled its a walleye grab the net. Without the net ready it got interesting. finally got the net in and got it under the fish and he came un buttoned. but dont worry he made it to the net. it was a 28″ 7.11 lb walleye. What an adventure. . trolled walleye divers the rest of the day and ended up with these fish

and to finish the whole day off we were about ready to leave and the motor quit. Tried to restart it but it wouldnt. ended up flooding the thing. Waited for a while and went to restart and the battery was dieing. it died. Got a portable jumper and started it after a few trys and finally got to leave closing a great day of fishing.

Walleye fool…… 3 nice looking eyes you got there ! The 21″ and the 23″ appear to be the same fish and the 24″ and 27″ fish to look to be the same fish as well……. . You wouldn’t be trying to tell a fish story now would you ?

as many problems as we had with trying to keep the camera running long enough to take a picture that could be. Bad Bad batteries. but we did catch all them fish but i might not have put the right pics up with them. I will have to look them over again. i have to redownload everything off the camera again. should be fixed after a while.

dont know our exact speed but we were going at idle speed with a 40 outboard. Whatever that speed would be.
