I got a chance last night to get out for a few hours with Steven Golightly from Mumford Tenn. We casted crankbaits to wingdams this night with some very nice fish making to to the boat. The water is the cleanest I have seen it in months(24″ of visability). Here’s Steven with a 19.75″ walleye that he got on a jointed Shad Rap in the Firetiger pattern.

Here’s another picture of Steven with some of the other fish that he landed that night.

Thanks for the post Tony. Did the flattie in the picture also hit the crankbait? That stringer is the makins’ of nice meal, for sure.

    Hey Joe,
Yeah, that flathead did hit a crank. If memory serves me correctly, it was a black/crome Grappler Shad. That was the only fish that we did’nt get on a wingdam. This fish came off a clam flat in about 5.5 ft. of water that we where casting cranks to.
If you ever get down this way give me a call and we can hook up.

Tony, are you sitting above the w-dam and taking the crankbait right over the w-dam?
I have always stayed away from w-dams, but I need to try new things. Thanks for your help.

    Davenport.

Your missing some of the best fishing on the river by avoiding the wingdams. I’m just staging above the wingdams and casting to them. I usually start at the inside of them and work my way out.

If I’m reading this right, your from Davenport Ia. If you are, just let me know when you want to go out and I’ll show you how it’s done.

By the way. Welcome to the best fishing website on the net.
