    The water.

The fishing reports have been nonexistent as most of the anglers have been prefishing for the MWC. The guides have been bringing in fish using Dubuque Rigs. Pitching with blades and plastics are still pulling in some pre spawn fish, but it sounds like we are at the very tail end of the prespawn bite.

Reportedly crawlers are doing will lindy rigging in slack water current seams. I haven’t seen any of these fish so you know what they say.

The Everts Resort ramp is open with easy launching. Parking is tight, but we’re ok at this point and the water should be cresting tomorrow after another 6 inch rise that’s in the forecast.

Stick baits should be taking off anytime if they aren’t already.

The channel cats are waiting and ready anytime someone is looking for them.

The white bass bite is picking up but just a bit too early at this point.

Water temps is at 45 degrees this morning.

The water should be dropping starting Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

Here’s a few pictures of the Everts Resort new Marina.

The leader board is in the Walleye Tourney Forum.

It’s amazing what the radar pics up.

This is a screen shot heading up to the Vermilion River.
How does it pick up the trees on the back side?

There’s been a number of folks bumping into submerged navagaional markers.

When I say “bumped” I mean losing their lower unit, putting holes in their hull ect.

The tourney guys reported a number of markers totally under water or almost under.

At 78K cubic feet per second the main channel is not the place for a new to the river person. However with the high water, this might be the time to learn the WI back channel as since it’s pretty forgiving with the higher water.

Now more then ever it’s recommended to wear your personal flotation device and fish with a partner.

If a person happens to fall in, your chance of getting back to your boat is..well lucky. Using an online conversion chart 78k cfs is about 8 mph in the main channel.

    More photos later.

I was wondering if anyone had any insight into when the trolling bite kicks off on pool 4 ? Is it a temp thing or is more related to the completion of the spawn an the return to pepin? Im pretty green to the river when its in the present state [flooding] and dont want to risk it till the trolling bite is going. Thanks for any insight to this question.

That’s Little Jimmy on the road going through the resort.

If I recall, Bay City Flats picks up around 50 degrees. I’ll have to go search the reports forum and get back with you of that.

After the rain today and yesterday, I do not expect any (or much) lowering of water levels any time soon.
    Be safe out there.
