Ok, BK may want to move this thread to the stupid questions forum, but here it goes. When it rains a bunch this time of year, does it tend to raise water temps? And what about snow runoff? Replies appreciated!

Depends on what the rain temp is when it comes down.

Not so stupid…some strange things can happen at this time of year. For example if you have snow on the ground next to a stream or river and it’s a warm, sunny day…you get snow melting and running into the streams and lowering the water temp. If it was cold and grey out the water might actually be a little warmer.

This time of the year it can be catch 22 and can go either way in my opinion, but more cooling of water than warming of water from experience. – QB

Just one gauge, check your local one and may be different.

Sorry Jake, I was going to get the river temps but was called away and didn’t get back until now.

But those guys did a good job.

As far as the fish? Can’t catch’em on the couch!

Thanks for the replies! And I know you can’t catch em from the couch but is rather try and make a long cast from the couch than go out in this crap!

I remember saying to a friend last year that I hoped summer fell on a Saturday.

Nhamm, where did you find that temperature gauge? I have been looking for it but can only seem to find water level info… Thanks!

    Lock and Dam #3 info<<

The top drop down box has Temp at the bottom of the list.

Don’t come back and say it’s not there…it is, you just have to find it.

I usually watch the one at the CR dam but they shut it down couple years back right? Maybe I’m mistaken, long day. This one does the trick, they haven’t started till recently.

Thanks again! At least water temps have somewhat stabilized. Maybe that will get them going a bit.
