Arrived at Everts this morning at 3:05 am. We were in the water and up river fishing by 3:25. Picked up a small sauger on plastics right away. Then I figured I would try and pitch some rip raft with one of the new size 6 rippin rap’s I picked up after watching James last episode on pool 4. Needless to say it was a great choice. First cast I boated a great 27″ Sow. My personal best at the time. Two casts later I boated a 23″ respectable eye which hit harder then any eye I have ever caught. Not 10 minutes later I felt that thump again. Another personal best eye at 28″. All three got a picture taken and then released to perform their duties. All three were taken in less then 2 FOW. We stayed until 1:30 pm but did not get bit after 6 am on just about any setup. All in all an absolute great morning on the river! Big thanks to Chris V. for driving from Ashland, Wi to spend the morning out on boat netting and taking pictures and then having to drive all the way back up there. I owe ya buddy!

2 personal bests within 15 minutes of each other.. Congratulations! But to get all your fish in the dark is very interesting! Thank you for sharing the tips!

I tried to help him out. He did manage fish on plastics but when pitching rippin rap’s he had no luck unfortunately. I must have used up his and mine on the first couple fish.
