First the good..man what a beautiful warm windless spring day on my favorite place to be…

The old saying..on the river nothing is consistent held true..things are changing really fast…for the better part though and having to adjust to conditions is key… today the plastic
We’re the go to baits, boxing half limits of sauger walleye mix for three..With more fish lost than kept..lite biters but the ones that committed really ate it..that’s the good

now the bad..If your fishing this stretch of the river and your anywhere remotely close to the big olĂ© sign that read ” no fishing beyond this point March and april..you will…I repeat you will be cited..I watched the sheriff write a half dozen citations..fade away till all forgotten about..sneak by in among the boats and nail more…

now the almost ugly..but first let me be the first to say “shame on me”..I have read so many time about wear your PFD, s (BK) well its was just getting dark when we decided to head for the barn heading down stream at full throttle we hit what I’m assuming was a chunk of ice that stopped us dead in our tracks..

We all went flying forward..The collision completely jarred my grip for the tiller and slammed me against the starboard side of the boat also my two partners went flying forward and the boat went into a spin..I quickly but felt like minutes recovered the throttle and stopped the boat..I’m must say we were very very lucky but shook up..Thank you Jesus..

shame on me for even entertaining the thought that something like that won’t happen to me..
never again..I will be wearing mine and so will anyone who’s riding in my boat while in motion ..period!!!!

Glad to hear everyone was alright. After running a jet and a few sudden stops I always run with my tether attached also.

Nice report Louis! Good to meet you in person

You did as well as anyone out there…200 boats Saturday and many were skunked… Glad to hear you guys are OK…Crazy to be motoring at night with ice bergs coming down…I heard a couple other boats were damaged also by talking to the Sheriff.
