I would put a post in the Trip Swap Forum and try to catch a ride out on a boat
If it was me I’d just go down to Everts fish off the dock and have Brian bring down some hot spam for lunch.
I think you’d almost be better off fishing off the riprap at bay point park.
Welcome to IDO goosehunter.
If you want to spend some time shore fishing, go down to the levee wall in downtown Red Wing…in front of the train station. There’s about three blocks of fishable shoreline there and lots of walleye/sauger get taken there. Jig/plastic, jig/minnow…either or. There are some snags so plan to lose a couple heads there, but the fish are there too. The area around the tie-off pipes near the grain elevator has the best fishing but also has the most snags.

Come on dude
no disrespect here but do you want them to bait your hook for you too?
They just dialed you in to a few spots!!!
They did their homework…Do yours!!!
Trust me…
I know where you are at… Keep asking questions as the people on this site are as great as they come and willing to give us all
Excellent Intel… All I was trying to say is get down there and start learning the system and learn every time you go out
Sorry if I came across a little too harsh

I do that all the time!
Thanks John.
Welcome to IDO Goose…
Stop into 4 Seasons Sports in Red Wing or swing over to Everts Resort on the WI side. On of the folks at either one of these shops will help you along to put a fish in your frying pan… if John doesn’t get you on fish.
Goosehunter….do a google map search of Red Wing specifying the Am Trak station. Use the map to orient yourself to get to that point but the section of river you want to locate is right in front of the train station and both up and down stream a block or so. Nice little parking area right at the water there.
Anyone that says this location sucks probably doesn’t want anyone else to know about the excellent shore-fishing there.
Tom, I think you took what CPR said entirely the wrong way. CPR, I know exactly what you meant. Tom, I think you need to go back to bed and try getting up on the other side.

I see the smilie now and stand corrected.
