Heading down tomorrow morning, and was curious about using a chubby darter for eyes. I’ve heard the meat bite is best right now, and in an attempt to keep the hands warm, I’d like to try this out instead of digging in the bait bucket. Has anyone tried this? Would it be too much of a pain in the 
to deal with depth and current?

Have you fished with a Chubby Darter on the river before? I’m just curious how the profile handles in the current and if you might put some weight above it?

No, I haven’t. That’s why im asking. I wonder if anyone’s ever had success trying it, or if the lightweight nature of it would just be a hassle.
And here I thought a chubby darter was one of the bigger girls from the Border lounge.

It’s even worse when your hands get wet from unhooking a fish. 
IMO chubby darters catch more fisherman than fish, but i wouldn’t hesitate to use https://www.google.com/#q=northland+live+forage+rippin+shad
That looks more like a Salmo Zipper than a Chubby Darter. I’ll stick with the Darter…and the Zipper/
