I have only been to P4 a couple of times last year targeting walleye. We ended up catching 2 little saugers and a couple of small walleyes. So what is your favorite method of using to catch walleyes on the mississippi river?

It changes almost daily up there, but the BEST advice I can give you is to stop in to Everts Resort and they will give all the info you need to as what has worked to catch fish.

Pending time of year my favorite methods are pitching hair, jig and plastics or pulling crank baits.

My favorite is dragging plastics, but that isn’t always the best tactic on a given day. Sometimes you need to pull three ways, sometimes you need to pitch current seams, sometimes you need to verticle jig, sometimes you need to drown minnows, etc. Some days they all work, some days only one thing works.

The things that seperates the ones that struggle and the ones that consistantly put fish in the boat on P4 is time on the water and being able to figure out what is going to work on a given day.

Launching at Evert’s and getting some intel helps a lot.
