I haven’t posted anything on walleyes for quite some time…That doesn’t mean I haven’t been out fishing just so dang busy…I have been finding walleyes on the wing dams and in the back sloughs..

The back sloughs have been producing walleyes and saugers on crawlers and leeches in any of the washed out holes and the walleyes on the wing dams have been coming on cranks right on top of the dams..

these fish are real hungry and are fairly skinny, but the way they are eating they should be fatning up real soon..

    Nice walleye Dave

Are you casting cranks to the top of the dams,or slipping across the face keeping the bait on top of the wing?

Actually both …I set up on a wingie and cast to certain spots, inching my way back towards the wing dam…and eventually i end up almost right on top pitching parallel..

Thanks for the report Dave. I’m on vacation until the 18th and am planning on heading to the river at least one day. I’m hoping what’s working up river a bit works down this way. Of course I’ll be pounding the lake as well!

Your’re not kidding about the crawlers Dave. I was talking with an older gentleman at the ramp, he fished the early morning, and he had a nice limit of fish; all on crawler. He limited out on the ‘eyes early, then spent the rest of the day loading up on bull bluegills.

Nice fish Dave and also a nice shirt..Haven’t had alot of time to get out but you are right they are moving on to the wings and the cuts are still producing. The channel out in front of Cold Springs is also holding some good fish as well as the s-curves below Harpers Ferry.

    Good Luck

P.S. We do have willow cats
