Weather report before the lights go out at Camper #9 at Everts Resort on the not so picturesque Pool 4 of the Mississippi River.

    Outside temp: -5 F
    Inside temp: 71 F
Wind: Howling and if you thing I’m going out side to get a better reading, you’re nuts.
    Humidity: 56%
    Humility: High.
    Barometric Pressure: 30.1 inches

2 limits of sauger came off the water earlier this morning by one of our regulars Matt Groff.

And that’s the way it is at 10:30 pm on January 26 2014.

Here are some “soft water” pics that should at least make you think it is warmer out.

Ride to work at 0300 was a bit dicey with 4ft drifts that are hard as rock.Real hard to get up and go after 17 days off.

Chemo is going to have to wait a week or two I ain’t going nowhere soon.
Not the 250 lb fool I used to be, frail and skinny doesn’t need to battle in this fight. Hoping the hot cocoa holds out for a couple days….

BK Matt is my Son’s neighbor he is a little hardcore about fishing pool 4 in the winter. He just had to see how his new rig worked in the extreme cold he said it passed with flying colors. I was in an Ice shack and was cold I can’t imagine how pleasant that wind must of been.

BH, It’s easier to spend the night then head for work from Everts. Besides there’s a better view from the camper.

Matt didn’t look too cold when he came it although he did have a face mask on. I don’t think it was too bad prior to 11 am. I think it was about 10 or so when Matt pulled the plug.

After 11 the wind picked up and it was the worst I’ve ever seen it down there. At times I couldn’t see the river from the bait shop!

His video is on the Everts Resort FB page.
