6-8 years ago there were allot of saugers going there, the word got out and they got wiped off the bottom of pool four like blades of grass in a wild fire for three years……. (DNR officers claimed they had not seen or herd of so many people catching fish like this since before the nuc plant was put in) one officer claimed there were on average 150 to 200 shacks/people actively fishing everyday for nearly all one of the ice seasons. do the math we harvested to many fish. there were also bad spawning years mixed in there between the fishery being hit so hard and bad spawn years the sauger populations have crashed. there not gone but it is not a blink of an eye what it used to be. they will come back just need a few more years of bad fishing less pressure and some good spawn years.

maybe would help if they open the inland season when the MN/WI border water season opens

well that makes sense whats been said about fishing shacks–I fished there about 3 years ago and went about 3-4times a week and yes at least 100 shacks out there–now I think I seen 8-12 out there–am all for having season close along with inland–makes sense to me!!
