Got back in from one heck of a good day on the backwaters yesterday. The eyes are completely out of controll still but, their patterns have changed some. I have noticed that the heat and 76 temps have put the old eyes in a lazy state, you have to put those lures right over top of their nose and when they commit they are just smashing the 3-ways jig jointed shad combo. I have even had them take 3 or 4 hits at the jig so this tells me that they are agressive enough to chase down a jig for 20 ft but it has to be put right in front of their faces to do it. Also the fish have been relating to the outside bends and lilly pad edges. Water clarity and flow are the ticket to backwater sucess right now. I saw a green carp man pull 5 legal walleyes throwing spinner baits, WOW! Look for the skipjack you will notice the fish chasing them as they dart out of the water. Also take in to consideration last nights moon, looking pretty full. We boated 35 legals and about a dozen shorts yesterday, on Tuesday tim hit a slobasorus 15.5 lb. sheepie. Here is a picture of a 17 and 19 double that hit the jig first and then the shad on the reel in, makes you think you have a slobasorus on the end of the croix. Tight lines Drag Smokers Guide Service
