We were able to make it out for a windy afternoon of fishing Sunday. Launched at Everts, picked up some blades and hair jigs then hit the water. We started off fishing near the dam, but it was difficult to squeeze into the current seams we wanted to fish with all of the other boats so we decided to get away from the crowds and head south. Spot number one was a sharp outside bend with a deep cut that yielded one big drum on a jig/minnow. We then continued south and battled the wind on a stetch of shorline that has been good to us in the past late in the season. On the second cast with a silver blade we boated a 21″ eye. We continued to pitch the shorline and found a nice mess of largemouth. These fish were holding very tight to the shore and all came on the blades.

Great day to be on the water!

I was watching the white caps from the warmth of the camper.

    It looked brutal out there.

The largemouth went almost 19″, they were all chunks!

The sheepy is on the stringer because it was “Too slimey to hold” for the picture, she was CPRed.
