I know a bunch of lairs were out fishing this last weekend. Said they didn’t catch anything.

Now good Ol’ George from the lock sent me a little note.

“Rollers are opening up big time” from all the rain last night.

Certainly the fish will be moving and I would guess bringing more from the lake into the river…but all the places you guys fished last weekend…will they still hold fish this Saturday??

Steve don’t forget to pull the dock in!

Depends who you are. One member here caught the biggest bag in Saugerama history on his first ever trip to P4. Then last year got 2nd without pre-fishing. He may or may not have had some intel last year though. Maybe I need to quit prefishing it.

Prefishing is for rookies. That is why I’m fishing Thursday.

Well We didn’t catch much last Saturday so this Saturday won’t be a disappointment. I’m still getting out fishing for a day and getting to meet new people….WINNING

It’s always good to pre-fish because at least you are fishing.

Fishing in any form, pre/post/tournament/fun… is always a good idea.

I’m guilty of pre-fishing last Saturday, but I sure didn’t learn much. The fishing was tough for me, but it always is . We did find a few, but not what we were hoping for. Now; if there were a biggest Dogfish pot, my son would have been in the running . We found some very hungry ones. Something tells me that if we were looking for Sauger and Walleye, and got into dogfish; chances are we were doing something very wrong .
Did I mention I’m a rookie when it comes to river fishing?……

It does pay. The bite was better in the nasty wind Saturday then it was on Sunday. Maybe it was the company or the location but I got to fish 2 days in a row

Looking at the river forecast water levels are to come up maybe 2′. That sure doesnt seem like much. It will be good to see some flow on the river again. Good luck to you guys fishing the contest.

This time of year the level doesn’t change much it’s the flow that jumps.

That in turn moves the current seams and makes the fish adjust as well. It just takes them time to adjust.

The worst thing (I think) that could happen is if the rollers were adjusted while the tourney is going on. That normally shut them down for around two hours.

Not like I have any experience in targeting wallabies. They have scales you know.
