Fished New Albin for the first time Thursday and Friday. Tried to increase the odds by fishing with a guide on Thursday. Saw lots of area. Was informed on how to navigate the river. Fished several spots primarily for walleye and perch. The only keeper fish for the day was caught by my wife. Very nice northern. The guide said it was his worst trip in two months. Talked to some locals and they indicated it had been tough recently. Was really hoping to get some perch and walleye. The next day my wife and I were on our own. Fished several spots and the only fish kept was a 20 ” eye caught by my buddy ( wife ). Good thing she was along. We can have a few fish frys. Probably should try the river again. Couldn’t be much worse. If nothing else the scenery and company was great.
