I would like to know if the landing north of West Newton is open( the landing you can see from the main channel north end of West Newton Chute). I know they are doing a lot of dredging and sometime they have that landing closed.
Have launched there a number times this year, been a few weeks now though. Has been rough was wash-out in the gravel, go slow….unless its been graded.
The dredging crew is out of there but they left the landing a mess and then we got some bad rains. Maybe take a pocket full of packing peanuts along and bite down on a couple while you are backing down or driving out.
Belvidere landing may be a option….not sure on the water levels
I actually will be putting in at the Belvidere launch and will be picking my brother up who is coming from Rochester at that launch.
Was up there early spring and caught a few in some of the spots we fished in years past…..been catching alot of small ones on 5a but very few with any size to them…..good luck 
Tom – if not mistaken, this landing was established for the dredging crew. So to say they ‘left it a mess’ isnt accurate. I recall a survey asking for input from the DNR to keep this landing open, guess I’d say the DNR has now left it a mess.
