My neighbor and I headed to Lake Pepin Monday morning looking to catch some walleyes. I wasn’t overly optimistic with the reports I had been hearing, but a day fishing is a good thing. Got to the ramp around 8 and off we headed. Within minutes we had a 20″ in the boat. Not long after that I netted a fat, healthy 25″ for my neighbor. We ended up with 12 keepers from 15″-25″(all released) and a bunch of shorties. Sheepies are also on the chew and a few smallies in the mix. All in all a good morning of fishing. Beware, a lot of logs and debris floating with the high water.

Thanks for the report. What general method? Cranks? Live bait?

And yeah…I’m hoping to get out Friday maybe. But I assume it’s dicey – and getting more dicey by the day – with the high water on Pepin. Anyone have any recent reports on conditions? Supposed to go up another foot or so by the weekend I think.
