Got out on Pepin yesterday (Thursday) out of Lake City. My buddy managed one real nice 23 inch, to go with two 15 inch eyes. And then we caught about 20 13-inch walleye (No sauger). Whew. That got a little old, but good practice I guess. Live bait for us. A lot of guys pulling cranks, too, but at least with the boats around us most guys seemed to be pulling in little fish – regardless of what the method they were using.

Yeah. When we stumbled on to the school of small ones, it was nonstop. Most were pretty shallow. I’d say 3 to 6 feet.

Went out again (to Pepin, out of Lake City) yesterday. Took my kids for Father’s Day, so i wouldn’t really say I was able to concentrate super hard. But…heh…had fun. Same basic story. Lots of little fish, which was fun for the kids, but no keepers. Pepin was crazy busy, but we managed ok. There were guys parking along the road at Hoksila.

How’d everyone else do? Thinking I might try farther up the lake around can line next time. Not sure.

Got out on pepin yesterday also. Caught two keepers (16 and 18) and boated another half dozen shorts also.

Had one we lost at the boat, looked like 20+…still a bit misty eye’d about that.

Had a great time though, took dad out and man was it busy after 9am..had to weave through all the sail boats to get back to the ramp.

Trolled Pepin yesterday early morning. The lake was like glass. Lotta dinks. The wind suddenly picked up and bam, 4 sauger between 14 and 17 in about 10 minutes, then the wind died and it was back to the dinks. Crazy how that works sometimes. The surprise of the day was when I got to the landing, a guy with this huge pleasure boat was waiting to put in. While I was backing my trailer into the water he runs down to the dock, and by the time I got out of my truck he’s got my boat almost on my trailer. All I had to do was hook up the winch and pull out. I was kind off shocked. That was the first pleasure boat owner that I ever witnessed with boat landing etiquette. First time for everything I guess.

I’ve noticed that too about the wind.

And wow! That was nice of that guy.

I hope to get out this weekend but looking hot, humid and maybe stormy.
