Was able to get back to pool 2 for a good day on the water on Tuesday. MN-RST-Rider was able to join me for the day.
Started out the day north of the 494 bridge trolling some of the usual rocks and sand with not a fish to show. Then started exploring some of the back water channels and lakes in the area with still nothing to show. After a while of trolling cranks and trying a jig minnow combo in these areas and haveing nothing but debre to pick off our lines to show for it, it was time for a move.
Around 11:30 we put the boat back in at lilly dale and headed for the dam. There is a still a big change in water conditions between the Miss. and the MN. Trolling cranks below the confluence you can expect to spend alot of time cleaning your lines.
We did finially pick up a fish or 2 with a few other missed fish trolling cranks on the hidden falls streach of the river. There was diffently more action in this area.
All in all it was a good day on the water. Could beat the weather. Hopefully in the next week the water clarity will pick below the confluence and a trolling bite will get started.
Any one else been out on 2?
Looks like Thursday might find me back on 2 again to explore the trolling bite a little more. Front seat is open if anyone is interisted.
