    Gents,

On saturday I was planning on heading down to pool 4. I’ve never fished that piece of water before. I would like to target smallies and eyes.

I think I can hold my own in regards to finding a few fish if you could help me target a few areas.

I guess my main question is this. If I wanted to either troll or cast the shoreline with cranks what area should I target?

From the Red Wing Dam to Lake Pepin? Or should I focus more from the Whole of Lake Pepin or more towards Wabasha? I’m not looking for anyone to give me their favorite honey hole. Just asking to help give me focus on some areas since this is such a huge piece of water at almost 40,000 acres of water.

    Thanks in Advance! Mike

Your first priority should be to see what way the wind is blowing. Fish the windy side of the lake. After that, fish the flooded trees. I can’t say either end has been better than the other. I have fished both this past week and both were good. Concentrate on points and flooded trees on the windy side and you should do fine.

    Two rods per angler.
