Friend of mine and I did some long line trolling on Lake Pepin today. Steady enough bite to keep us interested. Fished bankers hours, about 8:30 to 2 and caught just over 20 of the walleye/sauger variety. Largest today was 23″ along with a couple others just over 20″. A few pesky sheepshead got our hearts beating faster a few times today too.

We targeted 8-10 feet of water on a windblown shoreline. The wind died down later in the day and that did have an impact on the larger fish (fewer and farther between). Hot steel in a SR5 was the overall best crank today. Best speed was just over 2.5 mph.

    Very enjoyable day.

Nice to see that bite is still going. Can I ask what water temps you had? I have yet to re-visit it from more than a week ago, but was hoping that warmer water temps would make the bite go better.

    Thanks!

I was out Saturday and Sunday and the water was just around 60 – 63 degrees.

Little cold still. We had 65 at the lake a week and a half ago, funny it’s still lagging. Thanks!

Long lined across from Lake City Saturday morning 7:30 to 11:00. I fished 14′ to 20′ fow. Started out with last years colors but quickly changed to black and gold and black and silver #7 shad raps. Had fairly steady action which put a limit of 15″ and 16″ inchers the box. Everybody else was running near the shore line and I didn’t notice any one boat a fish. I guess I landed about 15 with a bonus jumbo perch.
