I am invited to fish the float on Saturday for a bachelors party. Anyone have some ideas how to catch fish from the float ????

If the water is lower up there then down here in Iowa, this time of year, I would imagine that throwing jigs should yield nice catches of crappies, white bass, large and small mouth, heck, even sheepshead or some walleyes and saugers. Hemingway once said that it was easy to be a good fisherman in May, I find that true as just about everything bites. Good luck!

I have fished the float a few times in march and April. The amount of flow plays a huge role in jig weight selection. Most guys use a vertical jigging approach. They use heavy bucktail jigs tipped with plastics. Weight can very from 3/4 to 1 1/4 oz.
