Pool 2 Saturday

If anything I think the bite this weekend has gotten better for pool 2 walleyes. Like Pete reported last weekend most of our fish came on crank baits and hair jigs. There was a few wanting jigs and plastics to but it was hard to figure out just which plastic they wanted when the other guys in the boat keep saying “there’s another one”.

Most of the spots we hit where current breaks just off the main flow. Many of these spots it paid to throw a few different lures at. Not all the fish wanted the same lure. Changing them up we where many times able to squeak a few extra fish off a spot that had dried up to our first offerings.

The real big fish still kept away from my boat this weekend but its hard to complain about the numbers of 15 to 20″s biting right now. We still had a fair amount over the 20″ mark for the afternoon also.

Got a feeling we are looking for a little change this week on pool 2. Im sure the fish will still be biting somewhere but most likely many of the spots we hit this weekend will ge blown out. Thats what makes the river so much fun. The bites never stay the same for very long.

    Nice report Mike

Glad to see those P2 Wallayes chomping pretty good for you. Was planning to try it today until the storms changed our plans. Like you said in your report, the higher water forecasted will more than likely change the patterns around.
