Finally, the boat is out of the garage, sitting in the driveway, rods rigged and ready to go. I am finally heading out this afternoon/evening. Just iced fished up north on Wednesday and have one last ice fishing day next Tuesday way up north. But tonight, I am going to try all my favorite spawning sites and hopefully hook into a big ‘ol girl. Although, I have not heard many people doing well down there…but, they all have to eat sometime! I will be in a black/tan/red G3, swing by and I will tell you how good, or how bad we are doing! Cheers!

Not sure if there is a whole lot of spots to share right now. The dam is where I hope to go later today. Jigs, dragging, pitching or trolling is what I plan on trying. Would imagine many of those fish are up the MN right now doing there thing.

Mike is right…there are no secret spots. Went out last night from 5:30-9:30. Let me put it this way, the flow is high, the water temps were 45.8-46.1 with one area being 48! I would have been better off filling up the bathtub, dumping a bunch of mud and silt in, stirring vigorously and dragging a jig! Could hardly mark a thing at all. Dragged and casted in 2-8 fow and only had a about five hits. The water clarity was literally 5-6″ and that was it. Those “hits” we felt could have literally been dragging the jig ver the top of the fish as well. I do know we had two solid ‘thinks’ for hits but missed them. We had three guys constantly pitching and dragging..no luck in our boat.

I fished the confluence & up yesterday afternoon. The only fish I landed was a snagged carp below the island at the dam. Water temp was 43. Water is pretty low and clear considering its spring.

No piggies this afternoon but did pick up a few walleyes at the dam. 2 slowly working blades. 3 pitching Pulsars. Seen a few caught on minnows to. Water temps 46 degrees. Still a pretty slow bite but I was happy to catch a few.

Isnt it gone for a reason. No plates on them. Just a sticker on the tongue.

I think it depends on the weight – my Ranger has a plate, my other 2 smaller boats have the tongue sticker

Was out on Saturday morning and started at the dam. Did see a few fish being caught but as more boats arrived and nothing happening in our boat we decided to try our luck at the confluence. Caught two eyes there but what a great weather day!!!!

Found about the same bite yesterday as over the weekend. Couple of walleyes at the confluence and one at the dam. Seemed like the rain from Sunday evening had washed a lot of leaves and grass in the river. Made some spots tough to fish. Blade baits and plastics is what we found our few fish on. Seen the minnow guys where still pulling in a few also.
