Had a very busy holiday schedule but managed to squeeze in a few hours on pool 4 yesterday. The eyes were very hungry!
Hit the water around 11:00AM and by 12:00 I had boated 5 keepers. Had to leave around 2:00PM and by then I had landed 12 keepers with the biggest fish going 20″. All were released except 2 that made for a nice dinner. I tried several presentations (cranks, 3 way floaters tiped with minow, and jigs with crawlers) with the crawler tipped 1/8th ounce orange jig taking every fish. I missed many more fish. It was one of those days where I could do no wrong and my partner could not buy a bite. The wind and the current made for a very fast drift and I didn’t get anything until I pointed the boat into the wind and used the trolling motor to slow us down a little and move side to side. I have got to find more time to get out there. I am still searching for the pig but with the action so fast I didn’t seem to notice it’s absense.
