Anybody out there a heavy fisher of the Lacrosse area? I’m familiar with the Black River but haven’t fished the Mississippi there for 30 years or more. How is the Walleye fishing?

GOnefishing—I have been doing very well this year for eyes, Now I haven’t been out for a few days, but have heard of some eyes being caught. I would look at some wingdams without alot of flow and fish near the banks. Also troll some of the sloughs or go to goose island area. Most of my fishing has been south of the cass st bridge in LaCrosse. good luck and let me know how you do. John

I am a bit further north,in Winona, but right now were having our best luck trolling or casting in the sloughs. The most productive lures have been the light grey shad raps, either #5 or #7. Good luck!

LaCrosse is a great city. I wish my job were located there! My parents live in LaCrosse, and the old man hired a guide not too long ago … I got to tag along. Great fishing!! If you want a good, affordable guide, try http://www.tgifoutfitters.com (Bob Bott).

Still looking for a house I should be asking if anybody out there has a house for sell. Tough going from Lansing Iowa to Lacrosse, my house sold cheap and they want a lot in Lacrosse but we’ll find one. We’ve had three sold before we had a chance at them have to get lucky. A few open houses today. Have had to turn some down due to no room for my boat, HAVE TO HAVE YOUR PRIORITIES RIGHT!!!!!!

You might want to put a “wanted” ad in the classified section of the site. I looked at nearly 30 houses in a week this past spring when I was house shopping and the 3 that were the nicest and caught my eye were all unlisted / for sale by owner. Ya’ never know… you might stumble on a gem!
