Steve at Everts took a shot at Peppi the Pepin Lake Monster this morning.
Since Rapala is the only maker of a bait large enough for this application, he selected Firetiger.
Casting didn’t look like it was working well, I suggested using a 3 way rig.
BTW…not a very good picture of that 4 foot long rap Steve. 
Sorry to correct you Brian but rapala isn’t the only company that makes a super sized crankbait. Custom X baits makes a 24″ trolling lure Suprenatural big baits makes a 27″ bait and the Canadians from blue water baits make a monster 30″ crankbait. All of those could actually be fished unlike the rapala that doesn’t really do anything.

Pepi is known to be only attracted to Rapalas.
So those other brands are moot.
Cast all you want guys, won’t catch a thing!! You see through the studies through the years show lake pepin is just its wintering grounds, it has already started its northern migration and well the farthest north it can go is to stop at the Coon Rapids dam without any locks.( obviously hangs out with all the Asian carp up there 
). And that is my area right there. With raccoons being its primary forage I just wish all the heartless jerks around here 
wasn’t always shooting em or blowing up there guts with some type of chemicals so I could throw one on a harness and have at it!!
