To speed up my (unsuccessful) efforts to learn the spring river bight and hook into a wall-hanger I am looking for a guide this year.

Any suggestions for timeframe this year?
Any suggestions for guides on the river for monster eyes?

I tried to find links to guides on ido but was unsuccessful (once again).
    Thanks fellas.

Hey – what about Dustin Stewart? Since we are on topic. I have not heard peep from him on IDO in some time. Did he change careers?.. or maybe I have not been paying attention.

he’s still out there just talked to him last weekend on the water. these guys are all good guides, i know that dustin stewart typically targets big walleyes and dosnt go after the numbers but i think all guides mentioned can do the same good luck!

Hard to mention guides for the river and not bring up the Griz! Dick is one of the best guides and will keep you entertained all day. Oh yeah, he knows how to find big ones too!

Although i haven’t used Turk,(nor anyone else for that matter) he was kind enough to pass along a few tips to me at the cleaning shack last Spring.

Thought it was quite nice of him to give me a few moments of his time without having to book an outing with him first

All guides mentioned are very solid. I have hired Dustin Stewart 4 times over the last 8 years to learn and the guy is a machine. I have hired him at times that I struggled, and it is ridiculous how he just puts it together. Polite, friendly, and a solid teacher. This guy is honestly a river freak show. 3 of the 4 times yielded multiple fish over 28 and 29, and the other time was serious flood stage but he still found a legit 2 man limit and a couple low 20 releasers. Very skilled, very professional, very knowledgeable.

What is the going rate for a day on the river?

I fished pool 4 last Thursday for the first time and I am hooked! My partner and I caught over 70 fish! We probably could have had our limit by noon but we wanted to see if we could catch some bigger ones closer to dark so we took a break for a few hours. We had no problem finishing off our limit during our evening session. Lots of smaller fish, but it was still probably the funnest day I have ever had fishing. Biggest ‘eye was 22″ and the pictures at Evert’s has me wanting to go back for a trophy.

We stayed at Evert’s Thursday night and we found Friday was quite a bit slower than Thursday, but we had three keepers when we called it a day at noon. Awesome fishery and I couldn’t have been happier with the service and advice we received at Evert’s.

Sounds like you had a great time! And welcome to the posting side of IDO!!

Most guides run from $275.00 to $350.00 per day.

Dustin doesn’t have access to a computer and no ISP at his awesomely rustic looking house out in the boonies.

Last time I spoke with him, he was booked for the year, but there’s always cancellations so it would be worth giving him a call.

On a side note, I hired Dustin a few years back. I don’t think I touched a fishing pole. We covered a ton of water and he pointing out “items” that made spots good. That 7 hour tour has helped me countless times in my type of fishing and was worth every penny.

I hired him a number of years ago to. Great guide to fish with. The second trip out with him I only caught one fish. It was fantastic. Crappy day out. Rain. Wind. Dustin did not stop all day. Spot after spot looking for fish and running the boat to make sure we hit those spots right. Any guide is great on a good bite. Its the good guides that can make a tough bite shine.

The walleye I caught that day was pushing that 10# mark.

We used Denver twice. We had a million questions and he was happy to share. Has my vote
