Pool 2 Ford Dam update

It seems we were a bit early last night on our quest for pool 2 walleye. I was excited to see that the ramp closest to the dam was open so we gave it a shot. The water is still only 33 degrees and I didn’t graph a thing up by the dam. We fished for 4 hrs and hit everything from the dam to the confluence- nothing. This week’s weather should help kick start things. Hoping to join the masses on pool 4 this Friday.

I went over the Ford bridge last night about 5:30, saw a boat down there. Was it you? I was wondering if anything had moved up yet.

I was thinking about heading out there today. I bought a new graph and GPS yesterday and figured I’d try it out before pool 4 tomorrow.

Is the watergate marina open/ice free?

I called them yesterday, theyre thinking next weekend should be open.

Said you could probably squeeze a 12-14′ boat out if you really wanted/needed to.

I was out on the upper end of 2 yesterday. Slow, slow, and slow. Between our boat and the others, saw 4 fish landed in about 4.5 hours.

I saw 4 or 5 boats up by the dam when I drove over today. Sounds like one of them was probably you. It looked like a beautiful day to be out.

Water looked really clear and low.
