3 of us are planning on a trip over there on Monday/Tuesday to get a quick itch scratched. Input based on flow/current etc would be appreciated as it looks like 35-36 degrees, 10 mph North winds and cloudy looks to be the weather forecast.

Hooking white tips is the main priority.
A couple bigger ones and a few for the box is what we are hoping for. Hopefully not asking for too much here

Things change daily , the best advice given is…. stop into Everts and ask questions, they are more than willing to help all out.

    Have good and safe trip.

Maybe out of luck for the “white tips”. There’s a few,But most are sauger. And same for the bigger ones. THere’s a couple getting caught, But few and far between. Hope it changes though for ya..

I have to disagree. Last week, we caught very few sauger, but lots of walleye once we found them. We found a good night bite. Many 20-22 inch females, but only a couple that were bigger. Once Chappy showed up, the walleye all fled to a different spot.

Things can change a lot in a week…

Chappy is a good fisherman I respect him for an honest report…The link to Eric’s report doesn’t surprise me. He pretty much does that every time aka Dustin Stewart.

Get out there and enjoy the day…There is a learning curve to consistently catch 10-14 lb walleye like Eric does and many hours on the water well into the night.

If you go to strictly catch Trophy fish you will have to dramatically alter the habit of using “normal” techniques and fishing pressured areas like the Dam…and other “common holes”.

Me…I just enjoy whatever bites my hook and occasionally get lucky. Leaving the “white tips” for seed and keeping those “nasty” eating Sauger…

BTW…I also respect John as a good fisherman…but we all know how the Pool 4 can be humbling at any time.
Good…How about during the Chili Cookoff with a Polish Beer!

I agree with Tom. If you aren’t a frequent visitor to P4, it can be a tough nut to crack sometimes. Things can change overnight.

Ouch John….That hurts! LOL Nothing new though, I think the fish have caught on that I got a different boat last year and they all flee at the sight of the word tournament on the side.
