I recently moved to Highland Park (near Ford Parkway) in St. Paul. I’m wondering what pool # that is down below the Bridge, and what times of the day seem to produce the most walleye. I fish near the creek on the Minneapolis side by the little bridge. I had only one good night bite with 2 6# eye’s but lately it has been slow, real small ones every hour or so. I will listen to all advice and tactics that work. Thanks

Below the Ford Dam is Pool 2. It is 100% catch and release for walleye and sauger. I usually fish this Pool 2 about once every 2 weeks or so. Right now, the only tactic that I can tolerate is vertical jigging-otherwise there is just too much debris. I fish from a boat-so I dont know if that will help you. Minnehaha creek where you are fishing is good. That entire shoreline up to the dam can be good, but to fish it from shore you need the water to go down some yet. Another good spot for a variety of species (including walleye and sauger) is Crosby Farm. It is a park that is right next to an inlet that creates a good current break. Crosby farm is right where Miss River Blvd turns into Sheppard Rd (highway 5 crosses and Buca is right there too).

Good luck. BTW-do you have access to a boat?
