How does the approach an angler makes in fishing Pool 2, particluarly wing dams, change with current rising water condidions? Am hoping to fish this streatch this week-end.

It seems to be the walleyes move off the high current areas of the wing dams. This might be just moving closer to shore on the same dam you found them before or maybe moving to a wingdam that does not have as much current. Last year during the high water both cranks and jigs where still taking high water fish.
Try a info search of pool 2 during may thru july last year. There was nothing but high water then and the fish where still being found.
I am happy to see the high water coming. Hoping to check it out again on thursday.

    Fred,

Mike hit her on the head for what I have found over the years as well. Rising water levels mean fish a little more bunched up than they were before and get very active. THe backwaters are another place to score soem nice fish this time of year wiht rising water levels! Pitching jigs and trolling cranks and GO SHALLOW!!!!

    Good luck

Thanks. Great advice. I’m going to fish pool 2 Friday and will post how I did.
