Ice fishing for walleye

    Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows of a place on the river to go ice fishing for walleye. Thanks.

    Welcome to IDO.

    I’d check the regulation book first to see where I could fish for the walleyes. I don’t know about downstream but season is closed for me.

    Walleye is open all year long on the mississippi boarder waters.

    I’m from Iowa. I know there is a lot of open water on the Mississippi but I’m just wondering if there is a spot to do some ice fishing for walleye.

    Yes, there is tons of ice fishing oppurtunities on pool 4. starting at redwing and ending at the end of lake pepin. Now if you can find the walleye bite this year…thats a whole ‘nother story. Bite has been very very hard for walleyes outside of fishing the open water near the dam at red wing.
